Fund-raising, an integral part of any social Organisation whose primary goal is community service, has been the forte of MRT1. From immensely successful large-scale events like hosting the India vs. Pakistan cricket match in the late 80s and celebrity concerts and plays in the recent past to modest yet no less passionate efforts such as “sponsor a child”, the Table has taken fund-raising very seriously. A distinctive feature of MRT1’s fund raising is that all funds raised for community service are channelled directly to projects. Overheads are borne by the members, ensuring that every rupee generated towards a cause finds its way to the people that need it the most.
